A Witch’s Encounter With God

For many years I walked in a spiritual desert. My journey took me down many paths that I believed all lead to the same destiny. I embraced the gods and goddesses of the land in which I roamed. I scoffed at Christians who claimed their way was the only way and who spoke of unconditional love, yet placed ultimatums on anyone who didn’t see eye to eye. They instilled scare tactics that damned me and others of a like-mind to eternal hell-fire. I opted instead for a belief that gave me multiple chances through reincarnation to obtain enlightenment and become one with the all. Wasn’t that the same God? One day wouldn’t we all end up at the same destination no matter the path we chose? And then it happened… love like a waterfall rushed over me and swept me away in waves of passion. A love so strong and with such magnitude that I simply could not resist, deny or say no to. I basked in His arms of love for a season and then one day I saw a vision. There were two processions of people, those in white robes accompanied by Jesus on a white horse and those wearing robes of many different colors carrying the scepter of the goddess. I saw them as two kingdoms on opposing sides and that’s when I realized their paths led to different destinations.

Dear Friend,

I see your heart fighting against your will. “I have felt God,” says your heart. “And I want Him, I want to experience that love again.” The will responds, “No, I won’t lay aside what I found in Wicca.” While the will suppresses the heart, it cannot eradicate the longing. I certainly encourage you to speak and write to Christians about this Jehovah that you do not know, but in the end it will come down to the fight between… your will and… your heart. Your heart will continue longing for Jehovah and your will continues to resist. You have two options; shut God out or let God in. Wicca will get you so far to God but no further since you are doing the active part. You now have a situation where God is doing the active part, inviting you into that close communion with Him. If Wicca could provide what God really offers… intimate union with the divine, you would not have this longing. It cannot. Only accepting the invitation for the indwelling of God can fill that void. I’m trying to tell you what I found and I can see how strongly your heart is seeking it.

From my heart to yours…
let Him in.

The covenant known as “salvation” is based on the fact that God first loved you even before you gave your heart to Him! God would have all of His children to be reconciled unto him and desires that none would be led astray. Where are you in your restoration process today? Perhaps you’ve walked away from God and wandered in the desert much like I had. Your “Egypt” may or may not be magick and witchcraft, but any belief or lack of it that takes us away from God can keep one wandering in the wilderness. His heart is overflowing with love for you and His desire is for you to be restored in relationship with Him. No matter what your sin may be, the Bible tells us, “He is faithful to forgive.” There is nothing that can separate you from the love of God, in Christ Jesus. While there is no “magical” formula for salvation, and reciting a prayer in itself will not grant you saving grace, scripture tells us that if we believe Jesus is the son of God and have faith in His death and resurrection we shall be saved. Prayer is simply talking with God and affirming our faith. If you desire restoration with the Father, then you need only to begin talking with God and ask Him to help your unbelief. If you are a Wiccan or Pagan, thank you for reading thus far. I hope that you will be willing to reexamine and look into the true nature of Jesus and not base His teachings on the fallibility of imperfect believers.

                                     I proclaim to you, “The Unknown God

Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: “God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising. Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.” (Paraphrase, Acts 17)
